Do you see yourself as a leader?
Do You See Yourself as a Leader? Here’s What I’ve Learned:
When asked, “Do you see yourself as a leader?” it feels like a loaded question.
Technically, everyone can be considered a leader in some aspect of life—but being a good leader, that’s where the real challenge lies.
As a father, I’m a leader of my household.
As a man, I’m responsible for leading myself.
But here’s the catch: you can’t truly lead until you’ve learned to follow. I believe the key to a successful journey in life is mastering both.
The ability to follow with intention lays the foundation for effective leadership.
Personally, I spent years leading without direction, acting without conviction.
It wasn’t until I committed to following God’s guidance—through meditation, prayer, and clarity in His vision for my life—that I truly stepped into my role as a leader.
Now, at 39, with the wisdom gained from experience, I understand what it means to lead with purpose.
The truth is, leadership isn’t about a title; it’s about following first and finding the mentors and guidance that shape us into the leaders we’re meant to be.
So, am I a leader?
Yes, by default.
But more importantly, I strive to lead with purpose, conviction, and humility—and that’s a journey that never stops.
Are you following the right path to become the leader you’re meant to be?
