Why do we endure the pain of a workout, ( bodybuilding, cross fit, and triathlons) that moment when you feel as if your going to pass out. Well if you’ve done it before you know why.
For those reading this and don’t know what i’m talking about , well your in luck I’m going to give you the secret. We endure the pain because afterwards we are that much stronger. When your working out your breaking down muscle, your goal is to break down as much as possible. So when your body goes into a catabolic state its healing your muscles making them stronger. The same can be said for wounds and broken bones each time you are injured the body rebuilds stronger better than before .The human body is designed after any injury to rebuild itself given certain opportunities and environment. Here are a couple of links to expand upon it : http://www.drday.com/body_heal_itself.htm http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/human-biology/heal-broken-bones.htm When you workout day after day, night after night, your going to be sore. But what keeps you pushing through the pain is your will and determination to see it through. The human body hasn’t had much change in the evolutionary stand point. We are still capable of walking for hours on end , jumping climbing and hunting for our food. I’m reminded of my time in the military, where I felt as if I couldn’t go on at times. The only reason when I was in the military I could explain what would push me beyond my physical limitations was sheer will. Just think about basketball, football and professional soccer players operate and function on injury’s ( fractures , broken bones torn tendons )for god knows how long. Only to be back at their sport in record time. Sure we could argue the fact that they have the best medical care or they have some miracle drug. But the fact of the matter is they have the will , and determination to heal themselves. So the next time you think you cant do something remember you can do anything , amazing things are just at the tips of your fingers and toes. So go out and stop making excuses about why you can’t. Just go and achieve what your hearts desire because in this game called life there should be no regrets.
